Principal’s Welcome
Welcome to Waikerie Lutheran Primary School!
As a previous graduate of the school, I am excited to introduce myself to you as the current Principal.
Established in 1979 the school is part of the Lutheran Church of Australia and one of over eighty Lutheran schools in the Lutheran Education Australia national network. As an independent school, WLPS is also part of the Association of Independent Schools, South Australia.
Waikerie Lutheran Primary School offers a genuine choice to families in Waikerie and the surrounding region.
We teach all areas of the Australian Curriculum, as well as teaching Christian Studies as a curriculum area. Christian Studies explores what Christians believe, and gives children the opportunity to compare to their own beliefs, their family’s beliefs and other faiths also.
Families do not need to be Christian to be part of the Waikerie Lutheran School community. We are here to give the best education and care that we possibly can to every child and every family.
Please come to visit and see this incredible place. I’ve been impressed and I’m sure you will be too.
Blessings,
Leila Mattner
Principal
WLPS is one of over eighty Lutheran schools in the Lutheran Education Australia network. We are part of a well organised system of schools with a long and distinctive tradition. We view each student as uniquely created by God with inherent dignity and worth. We strive to be a secure place which offers warm, caring relationships and a safe environment. We embrace high standards of teaching and learning, promote Christian growth and development, and work as a team with parents and caregivers. We see ourselves as part of the wider community.
I encourage you to come and see what we have to offer.
Book a tour or arrange a time to chat, I look forward to meeting you!
